Western Australia’s Safe Transition Plan
WA’s Safe Transition Plan outlines the State’s transition and easing of border controls once 90 per cent of people aged 12 years and over are double dose vaccinated.
It is expected WA will achieve a 90 per cent double dose vaccination around late‑January to early‑February 2022. This date will be confirmed after 80 per cent of WA has received both doses.
Baseline public health and social measures play an important part in reducing community transmission, and these will apply at the time of transition based on the latest health advice and include:
- Mask-wearing in higher risk indoor venues, including public transport.
- Using the SafeWA app or manual contact registers.
- Revised COVID Safety Plans for large events.
- Requirement to show proof of vaccination to attend large events.
